Tom has 6 years of experience working with musculoskeletal injuries in varying private practice and sporting roles. He has vast experience working within sports, including rugby league, rugby union, professional academy football MK Dons in the UK and has worked at multiple marathon events aiding recovery and supporting injured runners. Originally from the UK, Tom has a passion for rugby and skiing and ensures his training in the gym facilitates his athletic performance. He has great expertise in pre and post operative rehab, soft tissue techniques and injury prevention strategies.
With special interests in sports nutrition, strength & conditioning and mobility, he possesses the tools to aid recovery, improve symptoms and take patients through to end stage of rehabilitation and return to sport.
Experience and History
Tom qualified in BSc (Hons) Sports Rehabilitation in 2020 at the University of Hull, UK. He has worked within professional academy football at MK Dons, and multiple rugby teams throughout England, league and union; ensuring accurate diagnosis and efficient return to sport at all ages. This is reinforced by his portfolio of continued professional development – such as previous completion of Intermediate Trauma and Medical Management in Football (FA) and Pre-Hospital Intermediate Care in Sport (RFU). He is sufficient in other treatment techniques such as taping, soft tissue recovery, mobilisations and has completed a course in osteopathic spinal manipulations; to widen his scope of practice. He is training to become a Level 4 Strength & Conditioning coach currently to aid programming and gym rehabilitation quality.
As well as his private practice and sporting experience, Tom has a strong 3.5 year background within the NHS, working as a senior clinician and team lead. This has helped him experience and treat a wide range of pathologies and injuries within the population including: acute sports injuries, reoccurring chronic symptoms and postural back pain. He has great experience running post operative clinics and working within gym settings to assess form, challenge and build confidence for those returning to from injury. Tom is a top clinician combined with a background in strength and conditioning with a passion for rehabilitation and performance enhancement.
